This design project had many elements to it. The clients had, over many years continued to add random propagated succulents, creating an excess of plant material. The front yard was overflowing with plants, weeds and grass. They expressed a need to simplify the design and have a more open space, while re-shaping the existing brick retaining walls and softening the look. We integrated curves and soft edges into the design and removed all sharp edges from the hardscape. We removed all of the succulents, while setting aside some for replanting. The driveway was completely demoed and replaced and stucco was added to the retaining walls to allow for a softer shape. A new curved walkway to the front porch was carved into the existing soil and a staircase was built with beautiful 1 1⁄2” thick custom fired Saltillo tile plus decorative Mexican tile risers.
Our services include landscaping, hardscaping, low voltage lighting and irrigation systems. We also create custom fencing, gates, pergolas and decks.
